31 miles in January? Why?
Monday 19th JanMy motivation has been my recent visits and care received from The Royal Marsden Hospital, the staff are so lovely, they always have time to listen and answer questions. I had a hysterectomy in May 2025 for Adenomyosis and Fibroids, I'd been struggling with awful symptoms for years, it was really impacting my life ! Then in August 2025 I had a message from the Sarcoma medical oncology clinic at the RMH, inviting me to an appointment, this came as a massive shock. In Sept 2025 my husband and I travelled from Norfolk to London , where the oncologist and team were amazing- turned out that my uterus had contained an inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT), which was malignant, this had not been seen on any previous imaging or biopsies. The last few months we've spent time going back and forth to the RMH, for CTs, MRIs and consultations. So far, so good, the IMT appears to have been contained in my uterus, however, RMH are continuing to monitor me for a while as not much is known of the behaviour of IMTs! I'm so appreciative of the Royal Marsden hospital, ‘31 miles in January’ seems the very least I could do, as a thank you for all that they have done and continue to do for me and many others . 😊

Be careful xx
