Last walk!

Sunday 28th Sep
Just set off on my last walk of the challenge with a 20km route ahead of me. This definitely wasn’t the plan when I started at the beginning of the month, but I’m determined to see it through and complete the 50k. It’s going to be a tough one tackling it solo today, but I’m carrying all the encouragement and support I’ve had along the way—it really does mean so much. Every step is for a great cause, and that’s what will keep me going to the finish. 💪✨

20 kms to go!

Saturday 27th Sep
Penultimate walk today, and I had a very special guest joining me… Mum! 🌸 The weather was beautiful, and the fresh sea air made our stroll along the coastal path after work even more enjoyable. We treated ourselves to a little pit stop halfway—coffee and cake that felt like the perfect reward. A lovely way to combine steps, scenery, and some precious time together.

Day 22

Monday 22nd Sep
Another evening, another walk via the Scouts drop-off—but this time with a tasty twist at the end! After leaving Scouts, we carried on to Costa to pick up a Too Good To Go bag. Supper (and breakfast!) sorted in one go. The boys always love the surprise of seeing what we’ll get, and it feels like a little treat while also doing our bit to cut down on food waste. Win–win: steps ticked off, bellies filled, and nothing going to waste.

Precious Time

Monday 8th Sep
Today’s walk came with a cheerleader by my side 🥰. He worked out that if I walk 18k each week for the next three weeks, I’ll hit over my 50k target. I love that he’s as invested in the challenge as I am! After dropping his brother at Scouts, we carried on to the park. It turned into a lovely Mum & Son walk, full of chatter about our days. The steps seemed to fly by with the company, and it was a reminder that these walks are about more than just the kilometres—they’re also about the moments we get to share along the way.

Leaving the car behind…

Saturday 6th Sep
Not the most motivated week ☹️ but I still managed to get a couple of walks in. On Monday, I had a Book Festival meeting and chose to walk instead of driving. The route took me by the docks, and it was lovely to pause and appreciate a view I’d usually miss from the car. The weather was much better yesterday when the car was in the garage. On the walk back home after dropping it off, I couldn’t resist heading back to capture the photo and share the view properly.

It’s Here! My Walk50k T-Shirt Has Arrived! 👕💙

Sunday 27th Jul
My official Walk50k for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity T-shirt has landed — and it’s made everything feel that bit more real! Seeing that bold logo and slipping the shirt on for the first time was a proud moment. It’s a reminder of why I signed up for this challenge: to walk 50km with my colleagues from Team Lincoln Cluster and raise money for a cause that changes lives. Every time I wear it, I’ll be thinking of the patients, families, and staff at The Royal Marsden — and all the generous supporters cheering us on. It’s not just a T-shirt, it’s a symbol of hope, determination, and community. Can’t wait to wear it during our walks in September — and to cross that finish line knowing we’ve made a difference. I’m Walking 50k This September for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity 💙

Tuesday 22nd Jul

This September, I’m taking on a big challenge — walking 50 kilometres alongside my amazing colleagues to raise money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

We’re joining forces as part of Team Lincoln Cluster, lacing up our trainers and hitting the pavements to show our support for the incredible work the charity does. Every step we take will help fund life-saving research, world-leading treatment, and exceptional care for people affected by cancer.

The Royal Marsden isn’t just a hospital. It’s a place of hope. A place where patients and their families receive the very best care during some of the hardest times of their lives. We want to give back by raising as much money as we can to help them continue their vital work.

We know 50k won’t be easy (especially with the British weather!), but we’re motivated by the cause and the people we’re walking for. Whether it’s in memory of someone special, to support a friend, or simply because we believe in a future where cancer is beaten — every reason matters.

If you’re able to, please donate to our fundraising page. Every penny counts, and your support means the world to us.

Thank you so much 💙
