We Did The Big Marsden Trek

I had originally talked about doing a nice country walk, something scenic, relaxed and very much at ones own pace. Then I had the bright idea of suggesting taking on The Big Marsden Trek instead!
As someone who works at The Royal Marsden, I see every day the incredible work that goes into supporting patients and families, as well as the importance of the research that is helping to develop better treatments and outcomes for people affected by cancer. I wanted to find a way to contribute beyond my day job and challenge myself at the same time. I believe in pushing myself and showing my support for the causes that are important to me in a significant way!
I definitely couldn't have taken this on without the support of my lovely family and friends (who believe in me more than I believe in myself)! A huge thanks to Keri-Ann (my brother's partner), who I convinced to join me for the Trek (the original Nature Island Queen aka Moana)!
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity is a wonderful charity that I hold very dearly. In support of everyone who has loved, lost or cared for someone affected by cancer, and with the insights through my work on how much fundraising can help The Royal Marsden continue its vital work and research for the benefit of those facing cancer in the future, I urge you to give what you can!
Every contribution, however big or small, will help make a difference. 💜

I did The Big Marsden Trek 😅
Monday 14th Sep
It physically hurts to type this because EVERYTHING. HURTS. 😂
But honestly? Every dull ache, crippling pain and moment of questioning “why on earth did I sign up for this?” was completely worth it.
WHAT. AN. EXPERIENCE! 🥾🙌🏾
A huge thank you to everyone who has donated to my fundraising efforts. It genuinely means so much to me personally and, more importantly, your generosity will help support the vital work of The Royal Marsden, one of the world’s leading cancer centres.
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity helps fund pioneering research, life-changing treatment and practical support for people affected by cancer. From developing new ways to diagnose and treat cancer to supporting patients and their families through what can be an incredibly difficult time, every donation can help make a real difference.
So, while my legs may never forgive me, my fundraising page is still open… 👀
If you’ve been meaning to donate, this is your gentle (and slightly cheeky) last-minute nudge! Every donation, however big or small, will help support people affected by cancer and the incredible work happening at The Royal Marsden. 🩷
Thank you for all the support, encouragement, messages and questionable aftercare suggestions. 😂
P.S. I have read ALL the aftercare recommendations coming in on my what's app and Teams messages. I am currently accepting applications for someone to actually come and implement them. 😂🩷
