1. Introduction
These terms and conditions concern the matched funding initiative ("Matched Funding") provided by Nationwide Building Society ("Nationwide") in partnership with The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity ("RMCC") as part of the Walk 50K in September event ("the Event"). By participating in the event, you agree to these terms and conditions.
2. Matched Funding Details
Nationwide has committed to match all eligible donations as detailed in section 4 (“Eligible Donations”) made to RMCC for the event, up to a total maximum value of £28,000 ("Matched Funding Cap").
Matched Funding applies only to Eligible Donations received within the promotional period, as detailed in section 3 ("the Promotional Period").
Once the Matched Funding Cap of £28,000 has been reached, no additional donations will be matched. Where an Eligible Donation would cause the Matched Funding Cap to be exceeded, only the remaining amount available under the Matched Funding Cap will be matched.
For example, where £50 remains available under the Matched Funding Cap and an Eligible Donation of £100 is received, only £50 will be matched.
Individual donations of up to £500 made will be matched. Any amount above £500 in a single donation will not be matched.
3. Promotional Period
The promotional period for Matched Funding will run between 15 September 2026 – 18 September 2026 inclusive, or until the matched funding cap has been reached.
Only Eligible Donations received by RMCC during the Promotional Period will be eligible for Matched Funding.
4. Eligible Donations
Eligible Donations are defined as:
• Monetary donations made directly to RMCC, only through the Funraisin platform.
• Donations can be from individuals, groups, or organisations participating in the Event.
The following donations are excluded from Matched Funding:
• Donations which don’t meet the eligibility criteria set out above.
• Donations made outside the Promotional Period.
• Donations from events or campaigns not affiliated with the Event, including the separate Walk 50K in September event for Nationwide staff.
• Donations from Nationwide employees or entities if they are explicitly excluded by separate terms.
• Gift Aid claimed on Eligible Donations will not be included in the Matched Funding calculation.
5. Allocation of Matched Funding
Matched Funding will be allocated in chronological order according to the timestamp recorded by RMCC's fundraising platform and records.
6. Use of Funds
All Matched Funding provided by Nationwide will be distributed to projects approved by the Trustees of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
7. Transparency and Reporting
RMCC may provide updates upon request on the progress of the Matched Funding and the total amount matched by Nationwide.
RMCC reserves the right to audit and verify donations to ensure compliance with these terms and conditions.
8. General Conditions
RMCC and Nationwide reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice or to cancel the Matched Funding at any time without prior notice if circumstances beyond their control make this unavoidable.
RMCC's decision regarding the eligibility of donations and the allocation of Matched Funding shall be final.
