A welcome message

Monday 12th Jan
This journey has touched someone very close to me, a family I care deeply about and the impact has been felt far beyond one person alone. When a young person is facing something like this, it doesn’t just change their world; it changes everything around them. Daily life is turned upside down, priorities shift in an instant, and the weight of fear, uncertainty, and exhaustion becomes part of everyday living.

Watching someone so young face something so enormous really stops you in your tracks. It forces you to confront how fragile normal life actually is, and how quickly everything we take for granted can shift.

In the middle of all that shock and fear, the care and compassion shown by this charity has been nothing short of incredible.

This challenge is very much a challenge. If they’re facing something this tough, then the least I can do is suffer a little too. I’m not built for running at the moment, I don’t bounce, I don’t enjoy it, and every run involves heavy breathing, dramatic sighing and a flushed face.  My body is definitely having to adjust but every mile is for them, and every uncomfortable step is a small reminder of why this matters. If I can turn my lack of fitness into something positive, then it’s worth every sweaty, uncomfortable minute.

What’s been really special is how many people have reached out to ask if they can run a mile with me. Friends, family, people who know I’m absolutely not built for running, all offering support, encouragement, and company along the way. It’s been a reminder that even when things feel heavy, you’re never doing it alone. Every shared mile, every message, every bit of support means more than I can properly put into words. If you’re able to, please consider sponsoring me to support this worthy cause I’d be so grateful.
