Walk 50K in September

Just before her 50th birthday, in February 2022, one of my best friends from school, Kim, found a cancerous lump on her breast, which turned out to be an aggressive stage 3 cancer.Â
Over the past few years Kim has bravely undergone many painful and lengthy procedures. Kim has bravely fought this cruel disease whilst enduring numerous operations, biopsies, scans, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, many different drugs, infections, total hair loss, ovary removal, a mastectomy and reconstruction. Â
Kim is a mother to three amazing girls and is married to the most supportive husband Nick; throughout this ordeal Kim has continued to work as a director and run her family home.Â
Kim will remain on drugs for ten years with all of the side effects they bring, but hopefully, we pray this is the end of the ordeal.Â
Luckily for Kim she was cared for predominantly by the Royal Marsden who have been absolutely amazing, and this wonderful charity deserve our support.   Â
It's incredibly moving to hear about Kim's resilience and the amazing support she received from The Royal Marsden during her battle with aggressive Stage 3 breast cancer
Kim’s story is a powerful testament to the impact of cancer and the critical role that organizations like The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity play in supporting patients and advancing treatment.
I want to do this fundraising to give back to them and support others facing similar challenges.Â
Here's how your sponsorship will make a real difference:
- Funding life-saving research:Â The Royal Marsden is at the forefront of cancer research, developing new treatments and therapies that benefit patients nationwide and worldwide.
- Providing cutting-edge equipment:Â Donations help fund the latest equipment, enabling earlier diagnosis and more effective treatments.
- Creating a supportive environment:Â They also focus on creating the best possible patient environments, making a difficult journey a little more comfortable for individuals and their families.Â
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps ensure The Royal Marsden can continue its vital work.
