I'm taking part in The Big Marsden Trek

🥾 26 miles for The Royal Marsden 💜

On Sunday 13 September, I’ll be taking on The Big Marsden Trek - walking 26 miles across the North Downs to raise money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Since the start of this year, my Dad has received excellent care and treatment from The Royal Marsden, so I wanted to do something to give a little back and help support the incredible work they have done for him and continue to do for so many others.

26 miles + hills is going to be a bit of a challenge 😬 - but a very worthwhile one!

If you’re able to sponsor me, however much, I’d be hugely grateful. Every donation will help support the work of The Royal Marsden and the care they provide to people affected by cancer.

Thank you! 💜🥾

My Updates

🥾 15 miles down. 26 to go…

Monday 7th Sep

Yesterday was my final big training walk ahead of The Big Marsden Trek this Sunday - 15 miles across Sussex to make sure I’m ready for the real thing.

It was a useful test. Mainly because quite a lot didn’t go to plan. 😂

🎒 Left my walking bag at my parents’ house, so had to improvise with a normal backpack.

🥾 One of my boots decided to start coming apart after about 5 miles. That’ll need some emergency attention this week.

☀️ Left in glorious sunshine and decided I definitely wouldn’t need my waterproof coat.

🌧️ It rained.

🗺️ Got lost several times attempting to decipher Sussex Walks iMap, which resulted in me inadvertently wandering into a horse event, a couple of random fields and almost someone’s back garden.

🔋 And I forgot my power bank.

So… an extremely successful training walk. 😆

But actually, it was. 15 miles in the legs and plenty of lessons learned — and probably better to discover all of the above yesterday rather than halfway through 26 miles on Sunday!

This Sunday (13 September), I’ll be walking 26 miles across the North Downs for The Big Marsden Trek, raising money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Since the start of this year, my Dad has received fantastic care and treatment from The Royal Marsden, so this is my way of giving something back and supporting the work they do for him and so many others. 💙

If you’ve been meaning to sponsor me, now would be a very good time! Any amount genuinely makes a difference and would be hugely appreciated.
