Beautiful mushrooms on the forest floor

Friday 26th Sep

We did it!

Friday 26th Sep
We walked 63kms, we only included the planned walks we did, no normal everyday steps have been included.
The pine forests and Lochs in the Cairngorms have been the perfect place to compete this challenge.

Our walks included over 7 Lochs, rivers and forests, we were amazed at the variety of mushrooms growing everywhere, we even found some classic red fairy house mushrooms, afterall the Green Loch is said to be green because its where the fairy's wash their clothes!
Walking to raise money for this worthy cause really makes me grateful for the advances in cancer treatment, I have people in my life who have survived cancer and I'm thankful for that, but equally I have lost friends and family to cancer as I am sure many of you have. The purpose of taking on this challenge was to raise money for more much needed research, and more help and support for those currently battling this disease. So please if you haven't already donated please use my just giving page and donate now. Every penny matters. Thank you.

Another beautiful Loch

Our first 2 walks

Progress Update 15th September

Tuesday 16th Sep
We arrived in Scotland Saturday evening.
We did our first walk on Sunday morning through a beautiful local woodland. It was a misty morning, when the mist lifted and the sun shone through the trees it like walking through a magical woodland. We clocked up 11k

On Monday we walked to a beautiful but relatively small Loch. We walked all the way around the Loch and then the 2 mile walk back to the car. It rained the whole time and were like 2 drowned rats, so lucky to have my lovely sister with me to do the walk as that one was a lot tougher in the rain. We walked 13k

Lets get started!

Wednesday 3rd Sep
So here we are, the first week of September and the challenge begins!
This is such a worthy cause, most of us will know someone who has been affected by cancer in some way. For some this challenge may be easy, I am quite a sedentary person due to my job and lifestyle, so this is a great opportunity to push myself and get off my backside and move more.

I will be going to the Scottish Highlands for 2 weeks this month and intend to do the lions share of my challenge there! I will post update's with progress throughout the month.

Please help by sponsoring me, whatever you can!

Thank you.
