Walk 50K in September
I'm leading a series of walks in Sheffield this September to support Royal Marsden.
I’m taking part in this challenge to support The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. They ensure The Royal Marsden’s world-leading nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world.
By donating to my page, you’re helping to make a significant difference to the lives of cancer patients and their loved ones. Please support me today.
You can see details of two of the walks I'm putting on in the blog section below, let me know through usual channels if you'd like to attend either of them!

My Updates
19/09/26 Grindleford to Edale
Monday 17th AugWe'll meet at 10:00 outside Sheffield station for the 10:15 train, and start the walk at Grindleford station. We'll follow the railway and a short distance of pavement through Hathersage and Bamford, summit Win Hill, descend (and ascend) Jagger's Clough, then walk through country lanes and farm paths to Edale, ending our walk at the famous Old Nag's Head pub for refreshments, a short distance from Edale station. While there's slight variations on the cards to accommodate weather, walking boots or shoes (i.e. not trainers) are a must!Â
There is a café in Hathersage we can stop off at, and opportunities for people to cut their walk short at Hathersage and Bamford stations. (These will also avoid the steepest sections). The walk is not wheelchair accessible, and there are fairly steep sections of ascent and descent involved. We'll need to arrange our own train back from Edale e.g. an off-peak return.

12/09/26 Endcliffe Park to Ranmoor
Monday 17th AugWe'll start at Pounds Park at 10am, and get the bus to the Ecclesall Road entrance to Endcliffe Park (or meet us there) and make our way through both Endcliffe and Bingham Parks, passing by a scheduled Ancient Monument, a Grade II listed heritage site (and a café), then follow the Porter Brook to the Fulwood Lane viewpoint, where we'll circumvent the Rivelin Reservoirs and Conduit, built following the 1832 cholera epidemic, before cutting across to the Sportsman Pub for refreshments, close to the terminus of the 51 bus back into town.Â
While I wouldn't wear your nicest trainers, this is an accessible route that doesn't require any specific kit or prep. The walk largely consists of aggregate paths and paved roads. The route isn't wheelchair accessible but we can adjust slightly to accommodate if necessary.
