šŸƒā€ā™‚ļø Walk 50K Challenge – Day 1: Treadmill Triumph with My Teammate

Monday 1st Sep

Day 1 is done—and I'm off to a great start!Ā Today, I kicked off the Walk 50K Challenge not out in the wild, but right where I feel most focused:Ā on the treadmill at the gym, with my wife walking beside me every step of the way.

I coveredĀ 7.21 kilometers. There’s something motivating about sharing the challenge with someone—especially when that someone is your biggest supporter. The gym buzzed with energy, but having her next to me made the time fly.

šŸ‹ļøā€ā™‚ļø The Setup

We picked two treadmills next to each other, started chatting and got moving. No distractions, no weather worries—just a steady pace and good company. It was a great reminder that fitness goals are easier (and more fun) when shared.

šŸŽ¶ What Kept Us Going

Light conversation helped keep the rhythm. We even synced up our pace a few times, which made it feel like a mini race—minus the competition.

šŸ’¬ Reflections

  • Distance: 7.21 km feels like a strong start. It’s encouraging to see that number tick up.
  • Mindset: Starting indoors gave us control over pace and environment, which helped ease into the challenge.
  • Support: Having my wife there made a huge difference. Accountability and encouragement go a long way.

šŸ“… Looking Ahead

Tomorrow’s plan? Back to the gym, or maybe a walk outdoors if the weather cooperates. Either way, we’re keeping the momentum going and aiming to chip away at that 50K goal together.

Total Distance So Far: 7.21 km
Distance Remaining: 42.79 km

Thanks for following along—more updates to come as we walk our way through this challenge!

From Pain to Power: Why I’m Walking 50km This September

Monday 28th Jul
Just a year ago, I was struggling to do the simplest of things — walking to the end of the street felt like a mountain. I was in pain every day, the kind that forces you to press pause on life. We didn’t know what was wrong, and that uncertainty was just as hard as the physical pain.

By December, I finally had a diagnosis. And in March, the decision was made — I would need spinal surgery. It wasn’t an easy choice, but it turned out to be the best one.

In April, I had the operation. Since then, every step has been part of my healing journey. I set small goals. Then bigger ones. And now, I’m taking on something I never imagined possible: a 50km walk this September.

A year ago, 5km would’ve felt impossible. But now, with determination, support, and a whole lot of grit, I’m walking for those who are still in their hardest chapter. I’m walking to show that healing is possible. And I’m walking to raise funds for a cause close to my heart.

If you’re able to support me with a donation, I would be incredibly grateful. If not, a kind word of encouragement means just as much.

Thanks for being part of my journey. ā¤ļø
