Walk 50K in September
I'm taking part in the Walk 50K in September Challenge to support The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity - a cause close to my heart! In the UK, 45 people are diagnosed with cancer every hour. That’s more than 7,500 people every week hearing the devastating news that they have cancer.
Through our Nationwide Fairer Futures partnership with The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, we're funding 34 specialist research staff at The Royal Marsden. During our partnership, they will work on a total of 120 clinical trials that will aim to achieve breakthroughs in cancer treatment.
The
challenge is to walk, jog, cycle, swim or wheel 50 kilometres across the month
of September and raise vital funds to help to save the lives of cancer patients
across the UK.
By donating to my page, you’re helping to make a significant
difference to the lives of cancer patients and their loved ones. I’ve set a

A little background
Wednesday 2nd SepThe challenge we’re facing
- 1 in 2 of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime. We want to support people affected by cancer in the best possible way.
- Low income, poor housing, poor diet or poor access to primary healthcare all significantly increase the risk of developing cancer and worsen survival outcomes.
- The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity is a specialist charity supporting the pioneering work of The Royal Marsden, a research-driven institution that has been at the forefront of cancer innovation worldwide for more than 170 years.
