Walk 50K in September
From Thyroid Troubles to Thankfulness
Last year, back in February 2024, I was diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Cancer and it came just in time for my 50th birthday! Luckily, treatment was simple and success rates were high. Outlook was positive. So it was a no brainer and out comes my thyroid gland, followed by radio-iodine radiation treatment. Thanks to the brilliant ENT team at St Georges Hospital and the Thyroid Oncology Unit at The Royal Marsden, Sutton, the whole process from surgery, treatment, recovery and the continuous monitoring and care have been exceptional.
I am feeling very fortunate and so grateful that I am physically fit and able to take part in the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity 50K walk this year in September. My turn to give something back. Please help and support me to give back to the Royal Marsden Hospital by donating on my page.

the unpredictable rain!
Wednesday 3rd Sep I wasn't sure if I was going to get a walk in today, using the weather as the reason. But it always surprises me how powerful intent and purpose can drive you. When you have purpose and determination you can achieve anything. No thinking, and as the famous brand says "just do it"! Another 4km done and I didn't get too wet 🤣 Share
My first walk to achieving 50k
Tuesday 2nd Sep My plan was to go out during my lunch break, but the weather had other plans. So ended up going for a much longer walk then planned. Got to my destination and realisation hit.... I have to walk back too. No forest bikes to be found anywhere! 🤔🤔😢Thank you to my Sponsors
