Battling the wind

Wednesday 21st Jan
Another 2 miles completed by the beach but that has to be the most challenging run so far. Strong winds in one direction and the waves crashing beside me. My legs were working hard but I didn’t seem to be travelling very far 🙄 the wind was holding me back, but on the upside, the return journey was much quicker 😆 Managed to stay upright despite feeling like the wind was about to blow me over 😬🤣
Pleased that the wind only added 1 minute to my run time 😁

Past the halfway mark 🎉

Sunday 18th Jan
Another jog completed today, now up to 19 miles in total which means I’ve made it past the halfway point 🎉🎉 Although I’m jogging on a flat surface it will feel like I’m going downhill now towards the finish line 🤣🤣

Still one mile ahead of the game 👍😁

Wednesday 14th Jan
Day 14, another 2 mile run clocked up 👍
15 miles in total so I’m staying one mile ahead of the game and virtually half way through the challenge. No major aches but my knees are letting me know they are working hard 🏃‍♂️😁

First rainy day run so far.

Friday 9th Jan
Another 2miles clocked up Thursday, first rubbish weather day, cold, grey and drizzling 🌧️
Ended the run rather soggy, not sure how much rain and how much sweat 🤣
So pleased I got my run completed before storm Goretti took hold. Hoping for a sunny Saturday run 🤞

Snowy day running 🏃‍♀️🥶

Monday 5th Jan
Woke up to a light covering of snow, thought my run today was scuppered, then remembered my favoured route is down at the beach, salty sea air meant that all but a small section of path was clear of snow, no gritters required 😆 Intended to squeeze in a one mile jog but as weather so gloriously sunny 😎 albeit freezing 🥶 I managed to do a 2 mile jog in 26 minutes, think I might be starting to speed up a tiny bit 😁

3 Mile goal achieved!! 🎉

Friday 2nd Jan
Very pleased with myself, just completed my first ever 3mile jog! Beautiful sunshine running one way but battling a strong sea breeze on the return. Pleased to know that despite losing a kidney and some boobage in the last 16months, there’s still life in the ole girl yet 😁😆

First Mile completed 👍

Thursday 1st Jan
First of 31miles completed this morning down beside the beach. So many New Year’s Day walkers, kids on scooters and dogs with extendable leads. I must have jogged over a mile what with all the weaving in and out of the crowds 🙄🤣 Only 30 miles to go 😳🤣

Training in full swing down by the beach in glorious sunshine, hoping it lasts 🤞🤞

Tuesday 30th Dec
Training going well, up to 2.5 miles in one jog session, aiming for 3miles so nearly there. Dates and distances for my jogs all planned so fingers crossed the weather will be kind 🤞🤞

New running shoes 😁

Wednesday 17th Dec
Just completed a short 10min jog to test out my new running shoes as my usual ones were not comfortable at all 😬Managed to keep up momentum with no stopping and best of all I didn’t need to stop for a wee 😳🤣🤣🤣 Lady and mother of a certain age 😉🤣

Counting down to January 2026!

Sunday 14th Dec
Only 17 days to go till the jogging challenge begins 😳😬🤣🤣🤣
Planning to start some short jogs and general fitness exercises this week in preparation for New Year’s Day when it all begins for real 😁
My fundraising page will stay open for donations until February 28th. Big Thankyou to anyone who kindly donates ❤️
I’ll aim to update you all on my progress as we go through January. Here’s hoping for no blisters 😳🤣🤣
